Oven Mitts!

So I decided to make oven mitts for my mother in law. This was kind of a tricky project considering I'd never sewn with anything that wasn't a straight line. For the quilting I used a walking foot.. Which I ordered an off brand of. It worked wonderfully. For the sewing around I tried to use the walking foot..not thinking I couldn't go backward..So in the end I had to switch back to my normal presser foot so I could finish.

They turned out pretty good! I'm definitely not pro at sewing, but I think it's really good for my first rounded corners. Let me tell you... It really helps when you sew and then turn the item inside out..lol. You don't see all the crazy mistakes.

I also kind of love the fabric. I wasn't sure how it would look as oven mitts.. But it's gorgeous! Can't wait to give them to her!

So now.. As far as "Christmas" goes... I just need to finish the treasure box. I'll work on it tomorrow. Can finish it in a few hours. Then I'll be done!

Crafty times in Tennessee. Livin' that dream. :)
