New-ish? Paintings.. And New..and.. old.

Ok! I've been painting.. Well, to be honest I was painting before the knitting extravaganza and ended up not finishing the painting I had worked on before then. I decided I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with it.. I may or may not go back to it later.. But I'll go ahead and post it here anyway! Besides, I like feedback.. most of the time....

"Day and Night Pyramid"

This is the one I said I was painting before the knitting extravaganza.. I think it was even before Thanksgiving.. It's not finished..But I'm not sure if I will finish it because I'm really not sure I like it. I couldn't figure out how to paint the pyramid with the correct texture and shading. Needs work! I bought a book on textures. So we'll see how that goes.

"Last Sunset at Sea"

This is another one I didn't finish.. I started this one a couple weeks ago. It's not that noticeable from the photo but if you look really hard you can see the sun setting. I was going to paint a lonely boat.. Maybe I will some time. I'm still not good at objects, and I loved the water so much I didn't wanna mess it up.

"Too Dark Trees"

Welcome to my painting that I'm calling "Too Dark Trees". Because it's too freakin dark. I did this a couple days ago. I believe on  January 26th. I like it.. but it's way too blue and way too dark. i need to work on how to lighten things like this up without getting rid of the "darkness".

"Fallen Flowers on the pond"

Love this. I did it tonight. I'm working from the beginning of a book I bought about technique and different ways to do things. This is amazing. Soo much emotion went into this. I think it really shows. I wish you could all see it in person. This photo doesn't do it justice. 

The Holidays are over

The holidays are over. It's definitely a good thing because I can stop worrying about gifts and work on my craft room, and the rest of the house. Allen is headed out of town for work tomorrow. So I'm thinking of sewing up some curtains for the dining room while he's gone. What a surprise when he gets back!

I need to knit a new hat for my dad and some new fingerless gloves for my sister. I never posted a picture but I made my sister some fingerless gloves for Christmas. She wants a black and grey pair. I can work with that! My dad's hat is too small. That's ok.. I can make a bigger one.

I'm pretty excited to get things started. I'll be posting pictures of my process..and finished products!
